Event Details
What is the Deptford Open Day? Who is it for? How do I get there? Option 2. Meet us at our Deptford Incubator at 9.50am. 18-22 Creekside, London, SE8 2NP (map attached) Deptford is in zone 2, just one stop away from London Bridge and is a stones throw from buzzy Greenwich. The new East London Line has made the trip easier than ever – with direct routes to nearby New Cross. Map, Access & Travel details can be found on www.cockpitarts.com What are the benefits of being at Cockpit Arts’ Deptford? 1. A managed studio in a creative environment Our Deptford Incubator houses a dynamic network of both established designer-makers and those who are just starting out. There is a really eclectic mix of jewellers, silversmiths, ceramicists, glass artists, fashion designers, product designers and more. The studios create a friendly and stimulating space – with opportunities for sharing ideas, skills, networking and collaboration. The majority are shared by between two and five people, though there are some single studios. The studios have 24/7 access, 365 days a year. All have natural light, electricity and broadband access. For more information about our services visit our website www.cockpitarts.com. What is Deptford like? Highlights include: Vogue favourite ‘The Deptford Project’ café which is situated on the excellently eclectic highstreet. The beautiful dance centre Laban is our neighbour in Creekside alongside music studios and art galleries. Nearby Goldsmiths College is a source of great local creativity and we recommend the Deptford Art Map as a way to discover the area’s vibrant art scene. Deptford is an urban area, but many of our studios overlook the canal and local green spaces. We are also a short walk from Greenwich, with its maritime charm, indoor market and historical sites.
